#hairhydration - step by step...

Routine

Hydrating the hair is important to replace nutrients progressively, thus keeping the brightness and softness. Ideally, hydration should be done twice a week because, in everyday life, hairs easily lose water, which needs to be replaced. But if you are alwaysr busy, even a single time during the week is valid. Everybody's hair needs hydration due to physical or environmental damage, such as sunlight, pollution and manual brushing.

Masks and ampoules bring benefits to the hair, but they act in different ways; masks act more superficially while the ampoules are more potent and act deeply in the fiber. The good thing is that they can be used together adding benefits: first the ampoule, then the mask. To select the ideal product for you, read carefully the instructions of each one and start selecting those designed for your type of hair (brittle, oily, dry, discolored, bulky, etc).

The importance of heat

A classic trick that passes from one generation to another is the use of devices with high temperatures (such as hot caps) to moisturize the hair. This is because heat helps dilating the cuticles of the hairs, thus making nutrition easier. Nowadays, however, there are new products and technologies which exempt the use of heat, reducing the timing.

Step by step

Before applying any mask wash off the hair with two applications of shampoo, leaving it for a few moments before rinsing. Remove the excess of water so that the hairs are not soggy and apply the mask "combing" with the fingers in continuous movements downwards, sparing hair root. Remember that wet hairs break more easily than when they are dry. This "massage" in the hairs fibers helps the penetration and action of the nutrients.

To warm up the hairs, use a hot towel (or a thermal cap) after applying the mask. Check the guidelines and get to know the waiting time. Then rinse, dry it (if necessary) and complete the treatment applying a leave-in restoring cream

Homemade recipes

Natural elements and oils can be added in the hydrating formulas. For more hydration in dry hair, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil in three spoons of the mask. Another suggestion is to mix three drops of your favorite hair oil in a good amount of the mask. Warm up in the microwaves for about 10 seconds and apply in the hairs (oil increases the moisturizer power of the mask).
